This is especially true for Littleleaf Lindens, as well as Silver and Norway Maples, which can be permanently harmed with bark inclusions due to improper cabling. These trees are also prone to splitting from high winds, heavy snow, or ice formations, so it is important to have the tree properly stabilized and cabled.

It’s also necessary to go with a well-educated arborist for tree cabling. This avoids common mistakes, such as cabling a tree’s outside, which essentially chokes it, or cabling it too low and not giving it proper support. The cable should always be placed as high as possible to ensure it doesn’t fall over or have issues later in life.
